Chair of Governor’s Statement

As Chair of Governors I feel proud to be part of Cropthorne with Charlton First School. Cropthorne with Charlton is an excellent school, with a fantastic Headteacher and Leadership Team; set in a lovely environment. All which help to nurture and bring out the best in your children and provide a great start to their education and life skills.

Governors act as ‘critical friends’ of the school. We monitor and evaluate the school to ensure that it is promulgating best practice and giving our pupils the best learning environment that can be achieved. We also recognise our responsibilities and seek to improve the working environment where possible and support all our staff both teaching and non-teaching

All Governors give their time freely and are available to discuss any issues at regular intervals within the school. If there are issues that need to be addressed I would ask that you follow the procedures laid down and detailed on our website, but I accept responsibility as Chair and am happy to be contacted through school if you are unable to resolve any issues.
