Five Alive – March 2014

A very wet and windy half term but we’re pleased to report that everyone here still has plenty to smile about!
Firstly Class 2 have recently had the whole of their outside area developed complete with stage, mirrors, storytelling chair and chalkboard. We are delighted with the changes we have made to the classroom which is now a very spacious learning environment that has given us the opportunity to expand. From September we plan to recruit another teacher for our Reception children enabling 4 classes altogether (Reception, Y1 /2, Y3, Y4 / 5). As a result we now have a few vacancies in certain year groups. If you are interested in finding out more please contact the school office –

Meanwhile children at school have continued their studies of the past and examined how times have changed since 1864 when the school was opened. We are now ready to start work on our school production, ‘Times of their Lives’. To whet the children’s appetites, KS2 spent a fabulous day at The Royal Shakespeare theatre, Stratford. Children took part in workshops during the morning, watched (and loved) the performance in the afternoon and then interviewed members of the cast. We were delighted to receive an email afterwards congratulating the children on their behaviour and calibre of questioning. When we return after our half term break children in Class 3 will be adding to our playscript working with a professional script writer for three days. Details are as follows if you would like to attend:
