French Day & Mrs Brown's last day

FRENCH DAY & MRS BROWNS LAST DAY – THURSDAY 30th APRIL
Dear Parents,
To enhance the children’s learning of French and to develop their understanding of French culture, we will be celebrating French Day on Thursday 30th April.
This year’s French Day is particularly special, as it will also mark the last day at school for Mrs Brown, who is looking forward to her new adventures after 22 wonderful years of service. Mrs Brown has been a much-loved Teaching Assistant and French teacher, and she will be sadly missed by children and staff alike. To celebrate her many years of dedication, Mrs Brown is organising this French Day as a special event for all the children to enjoy.
The children will spend the day taking part in a variety of activities based on France and its culture. As part of the day will involve the opportunity to taste ice cream, please ensure that Mrs Evans has up-to-date information regarding any food allergies. Please also inform us if you do not wish your child to taste this. We would be grateful if you could keep this a secret, as this element will be a surprise for them.
The Deli in Pershore have created a French-inspired menu for the day. Please place orders in the usual way. The menu will be as follows:
• Main: Chicken Chasseur with crispy diced potatoes and peas
• Pudding: Fresh cream choux bun
The rest of the normal school menu will also be available (jacket potato, cold pasta, wraps, yoghurt or fruit). Children not ordering from the Deli should bring a packed lunch as normal.
Pupils are invited to wear their own clothes for the day, provided they are in the colours of the French flag – red, white and blue.
To mark Mrs Brown’s leaving, school staff are organising a collection to give her the send-off she deserves. If any parents would like to contribute, please send donations in a named envelope to Mrs Evans.
Thank you for your continued support.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs Denise Smith
Headteacher
