World Book Day preparations

To celebrate World Book Day, we are excited to announce a special event: a book swap! We invite each child to donate a book they have read and no longer wish to keep. This initiative aims to encourage a love for reading while allowing children to share stories with their peers. During the event, we will wrap each donated book and label it with the opening sentence or phrase. On the day of the swap, each child will select a book based solely on its opening lines, rather than the cover. We believe this will not only make for a fun experience but also encourage the children to think critically about language choices and the impact of first impressions in literature. We hope this event will foster a sense of community and promote literacy among our children. Please ensure that your child brings in their book by 12th February, we will have a collection point in each classroom for these, so we can prepare for the swap. We appreciate your support in making this event a success and look forward to seeing the excitement it generates.
