Whole School Letter 07/06/18
Thursday 7th June 2018
Dear Parents,
It has been great first few days back following the half-term break as we look forward towards the final half-term of this academic year. Children have been excited this week to find out who will be teaching them next year and which adults they will be working with.
Classroom Arrangements for 2018/19
I wished to update you on some alterations to which teachers will be teaching in which classrooms during the next academic year – this is detailed below:
Cats Class: Miss Hughes will be remaining in her current classroom for next year with Reception & Year 1.
Chimps Class: Mrs Komor will be teaching Year 2 and will be moving to the classroom which is currently home to Mrs Jones and Year 3.
Cockatoos Class: Mrs Jones will be teaching Year 3 and will move to the classroom which at the moment is occupied by Mrs Hunt and Years 4&5.
Chameleons Class: Mrs Hunt and her new Year 4&5 class will be moving to the classroom which is currently used by Mrs Komor and Year 2.
Children will be fully prepared for their move ‘up’ the school and will spend some of their day in their new classroom on their transition day on Tuesday 3rd July so they will be more familiar with where they are heading next year. This date also coincides with the Year 5 transition day to their Middle Schools, letters detailing all arrangements will be issued directly from the Middle Schools prior to this date.
Should you have any questions regarding the upcoming year please feel free to approach your child’s new teacher who will be very happy to help with any queries you may have, alternatively, if you have not met them before please do feel free to introduce yourself and say hello!
Safeguarding Information
Safeguarding of our pupils is of course our highest priority as a school and following a recent redistribution of roles on the school’s governing body we felt it timely to share with you our key staff members, and members of the governing body, who form our safeguarding team here at Cropthorne-with-Charlton CE First. Please take time to read the information attached.
Sports Day
Sports Day will take place on Thursday 28th June this term, further details on specific arrangements and timings will of course follow, however we did wish to give advance notice that our Achievement Assembly on the following day will be a ‘Sports Day’ themed assembly, starting at 2.15pm as Cats Class will be attending a Multi-skills Festival during the morning, parents are of course warmly invited to attend as normal. I am always delighted to see so many of our families attending all of our events to support all of our children and support them in all of their fantastic achievements.
Dragonfly and Totem Pole
The final additions to our fantastic pond area have now been installed, these have been hand-made for our school hence their later installation. As the weather has become warmer the children have been making full use of this amazing space and it was great to see Miss Hughes’ class almost bursting with delight as they encountered their first newt this week! Look out for the photographs in our weekly newsletter.
Yours Sincerely,
Rob Bothma
